Happy Fourth of July weekend!! 💥
It’s been a BIG week for us. Hubby has the day off before he starts a pretty jam-packed month of training at Harvard Medical School (woah!) because this week he officially finished his fellowship, and I cannot believe we’re finally here. Guys, we’ve been on this medical training journey for approximately ten million years. But seriously, medical school, graduate school for a PhD, plus my own years of college and law school squished in, then residency and fellowship; it’s been quite the journey.
This weekend we’re going to attempt to go strawberry picking (it’s the last weekend of the season here in New England), we may check out the Harvard Arnold Arboretum (it’s supposed to be beautiful this time of year!), celebrate the Fourth with barbecue chicken and watermelon on our front porch, and start the festivities for Scarlett’s birthday (she turns 6 on Monday!)
I’ll be sharing what we’re up to throughout the long weekend over on instagram (lots of fun behind-the-scenes on my insta stories too!), facebook, and twitter. Follow along! So how about you? Any exciting holiday weekend plans?
Little Love Notes + A Few Great Fourth of July Sales
With that, a few little love notes to the things I loved most this week …
Dear parents, if you haven’t yet read this NY Times article making the rounds yet, it’s a must read. I’ve long loved Deb Perelman of smitten kitchen and this piece makes me adore her all the more. She hits the nail on the head. Any other parents feeling this big time?
Dear feel good stories, librarians are the best.
Dear summer sweet tooth, salted dark chocolate dipped watermelon. YUM.
Dear worthy reads, Five Things I Want to Tell my White Friends.
Dear design hacks, this apartment tour makes me want to put plants in every corner of our new place. Therapeutic!
Dear unexpected art lovers, How cool is this floating balloon art exhibit? Really cool!
Dear much-needed giggles, ‘Would you rathers’ for parents during quarantine.
Dear weekend cooking, The Capri in Marfa shared its famous grilled avocado guacamole recipe and OMG, is that not genius? I’m in!
