We threw our baby girl a cozy, at-home teddy bear tea party to celebrate her second birthday and it was positively adorable! I included so many sweet teddy bear tea party details to make our at-home party feel truly memorable; everything from teddy bears and stuffed bunnies wearing tiny party hats, to stacks of vintage tea cups, ribbon tied balloons, a DIY coquette ribbon bow garland, a floral backdrop running along our staircase, the sweetest teddy bear tea party favors (tiny teddy bears in tins!), and so much more.
Adelaide’s 2nd Birthday
And just like that, our third baby girl turned two. I feel like it was just yesterday that we were celebrating her first birthday, and now here we are: her 2nd birthday. Adelaide’s 2nd birthday teddy bear tea party, to be exact.
Adelaide’s 2nd Birthday Teddy Bear Tea Party
Addie absolutely loves playing with her baby dolls and teddy bears at this age, and is constantly feeding them and giving them bottles and sips of tea and tastes of cookies and cake. We realized that her love of her stuffies was the perfect excuse to throw a darling teddy bear tea party!
And our love for tea parties also runs deep. We’ve thrown everything from a whimsical and fun outdoor spring tea and dessert party, to a tea party baby shower, to an at-home tea party during the height of the pandemic. Adding teddy bears into the tea party mix felt just right for our third little girl. 🧸
We kept Addie’s 2nd birthday party super low key, after her first little party (with family visiting in town), had to be postponed because of yet another dreaded winter cold running through our home. Thankfully, for this party, everyone was feeling so much better, and having such an intimate birthday party for our toddler felt so sweet.

Teddy Bear Tea Party Décor
Setting the Teddy Bear Tea Party Table
I set the table using this gorgeous Indian block print tablecloth, the prettiest reusable melamine plates, tea cups, the most beautiful Serena & Lily embroidered napkins, plastic gold flatware from Target, plastic tumblers (that I found in the Target Bullseye Dollar Spot this spring!), and the sweetest porcelain dessert stand and matching tea set that I’ve had in my collection for years.
And of course, I brought in plenty of fresh flowers – tulips and dandelions – and filled up glass jelly jars with water and flowers all around the house.
DIY Floral Stair Banister
I also decorated up our staircase using faux flowers and wire twist ties. I love how this made for such a whimsical floral backdrop to our pictures.
Coquette Ribbon Balloons
I filled our dining room with the prettiest coquette pink balloons. We inflated large and standard size pink balloons and tied floral ribbon and chiffon ribbon to the tails of the balloons, which looked so beautiful floating around the room.
DIY Bow Garland
I layered gold fringe Meri Meri garland (that I love using for parties!) and a handmade DIY bow garland that I glued bow-by-bow together with a hot glue gun and these satin bows from Amazon.
The bow garland was such a simple handmade DIY project that had a big impact and I plan to string the bowls in Addie’s nursery later on.
Additional Teddy Bear Tea Party Décor
We dressed the girls’ favorite teddy bears and stuffed bunnies in party hats. (The Meri Meri English Garden Party Hats are the perfect size for stuffed animals and teddy bears!)
We also set up mini tea parties with play tea sets for the teddy bears. (I adore this pretend wood tea set that my sister got for Addie’s birthday!) We had one mini pretend tea party in the dining room and one set up in the playroom.
I’ve also amassed quite the collection of vintage tea cups, and used those both on our table setting and around the room as décor.
Teddy Bear Tea Party Dessert Bar
I strung floral fabric bunting banner over the dessert bar and set out the birthday cake, plus mini cupcakes and petit fours from Whole Foods and set those up on both the dessert bar and at the dining room table where we had our tea party.
Teddy Bear Tea Party Birthday Cake
We got the yummiest confetti birthday cake from Sugar Baking Co. in Boston and I topped the cake with the Meri Meri Flower Bouquet Cake Topper and decorated the cake with flowers.
I also made mini tea sandwiches for the teddy bear tea party – peanut butter and jelly, tuna salad, and sliced cucumbers and cream cheese. I cut up fresh strawberries as well.
Teddy Bear Tea Party Birthday Menu

- petit fours
- homemade tea sandwiches (cucumber & cream cheese, tuna, and peanut butter & jelly)
- mini oreo cupcakes

Teddy Bear Tea Party Favors
I found the most adorable tin boxes containing mini teddy bears on Amazon, and knew that they would make the cutest teddy bear tea party favor. (The exact “tin pocket teddy bears” we used are no longer available on Amazon, though I found this adorable fuzzy alternative.)
I wrapped each tin with the same floral ribbon we attached to the balloons.
The girls were thrilled as they opened the tiny tin boxes and discovered mini teddy bears nestled inside a cozy blanket inside.
I mean, are these not the cutest teensy tiny little teddy bears? 🧸
Teddy Bear Tea Party Play Space
On the morning of Addie’s birthday, we had her brand new play tent – a 2nd birthday gift from my parents/Addie’s grandparents – set up in the playroom, ready for the girls to play in.
We set up a pretend tea party inside the tent for the teddy bears using the adorable wood tea set from Amazon and a bunch of blankets, quilts, pillows and floor cushions to make the space extra cozy.
Setting up a tea party play space for the party was perfect because once the three girls tired of having a fancy tea party at the dining room table, they moved to the tent in their playroom to have a pretend tea party with their stuffed teddy bears and bunnies, all dressed up in tiny birthday hats. Basically, it was ADORABLE.
We also danced to Taylor Swift, played with teddy bears, and ate loads of sugar.
Teddy Bear Tea Party Outfits: What We Wore
I found this adorable teddy bear sweater from Dressed in Lala and layered over a favorite Free People slip dress.
Addie and Emme wore the prettiest pink satin dresses and Scarlett wore a purple satin dress, that they all picked out just for the party from Bloomingdales.
The girls oversized hair bows are from Amazon, as are their knee-high bow socks.
