Happy (long) weekend! Are you working from home on Memorial Day or do you have the day “off”? Both Mike and I are going to try to take a few hours off from working on Monday and take the girls for a drive. There are so many beautiful beaches along the coast not too far from Boston that we still have yet to explore, so we’re going to take a mini driving trip to take in the sights.
Other than that, Mike works part of the weekend at the hospital so the girls and I will be cleaning/purging, crafting, baking, and probably watching a whole lot of Disney+. 🙈
Has anyone else used this time at home to attempt to organize and purge around the house? I’ve never been great at letting go of “stuff,” but these days, I’ve really been trying to toss things that we honestly just don’t use. I read somewhere that if you aim to throw out a certain number of things a day – so for instance, every day you throw out five things – it can really help. I’ve been surprised how easy it is to hit that goal; broken toys, unused and ugly picture frames, random home gadgets, single socks, the list goes on and on. Then I just have a trash pile and a giveaway pile, and slowly toss things as I go. Moving over and over again throughout law school (for me) and med school (for him), residency, and fellowship is an easy way to see what things you never use; i.e., they’re still in the box we packed during the medical school years. 🤣
In other news, we’ve started binge-watching the show Community on the recommendation of our brother-in-law and oh my gosh, you guys, I can’t stop laughing. There are 6 seasons, so plenty to watch. If you need something new and fun to watch, Community is a must. We also finished Upload, and I was honestly surprised how much I liked it. It’s funny and dark, with a touch of sci-fi and it just works. Definitely worth the watch.
