Happy weekend! Today was a busy day full of errands, including picking up my new vanity (I’ve always wanted one for our bedroom!), getting the girls’ new mattresses (still a long way to go on their new shared room design, but hey, at least we got something checked off the list!), and then a trip out for lobster rolls and ice cream. 🦞🍦
Tomorrow we’re headed to the pumpkin patch, and we may just wander the city to take advantage of this perfect weather. I love when everyone in the city starts to put out pumpkins on their stoops. It’s seriously the prettiest sight!
How about you? Any exciting weekend plans to celebrate the first weekend of fall?
In case you don’t yet follow along, I’ll be sharing what we’re up to throughout the weekend over on instagram (lots of fun behind-the-scenes on my insta stories too!), facebook, and twitter. Follow along!
With that, a few little love notes to the things I loved most this first week of fall …
Dear slice of history, Nathaniel Hawthorne‘s Beacon Hill home is on the market.
My dear design crushing, have you seen Eva Chen’s charming Connecticut home?
Dear shoe swoon, Loeffler Randall came out with a fall floral print version of their ever popular Pleated Knot Heeled Sandals and I adore them. (Shop more Loeffler Randall here.)
Also, dear blowing up on Instagram, Pan Con Tomate (a.k.a., Spanish Tomato is taking the social media world by storm; and for good reason. Simple and epically delicious. Yum.
Dear headed back to TV screens, on October 24th, the award-winning comedy-drama Insecure kicks off its fifth and final season. (I seriously missed Issa Rae’s comedic brilliance.)
Dear hair trends to try, another trend I’m really into is the “Kendall Jenner bun” a-la Jen Atkin. I’m sure many of you already know about this by now, but I’m linking the tutorial here just in case, because it’s not only simple, it is an utterly chic and practical hairstyle for every day. (Even easier, try this bun-slicking styling tool made popular on TikTok with a bit of hairspray and say buy-bye to pesky flyaways.)
Dear weekend reading, I’m about to dive into an advanced copy of Every Summer After by Carley Fortune, and based on its 4.9/5 Goodreads score, odds are, it’s going to be a good one. (You can see more of my favorite books, plus so many great suggestions in case you’re on the hunt for a new book, in our BOOK CLUB.)
My dear weekend baking, sweet, moist, pumpkin coffee cake.
