Sometimes gorgeous party inspiration – with the most gorgeous color palette – just falls into your lap. This simple late-summer/early Fall gathering was one piece of inspiration I just couldn’t take my eyes off. (Psst … Fall is just a little over a week away, making it’s debut on Friday, September 22nd. Can you believe it?! Bring on the pumpkin everything.)
But let’s talk about this beautiful gathering …
Amanda Honeycutt, who owns a boutique event planning and design business out of Apex, North Carolina – Amanda Blair by Design – sent this beautiful styled shoot my way, and it was love at first site. I mean, the COLORS. And the story behind the simple shoot is so sweet. Amanda teamed up with Christian Reyes Photography for an impromptu early Fall shoot at Wylde after taking Nikelle’s one-on-one floral workshop … something I’ve totally wanted to do. (Anyone ever take a floral design class? I mean, who doesn’t want to play with flowers?)
I love when creativity just sort of begets more creativity.

The inspiration from this early Fall shoot came from a one-on-one floral workshop I attended with Nikelle Orellana-Reyes of Wylde. I have always been inspired by the way Nikelle incorporates color and texture to create breathtaking organic arrangements and bouquets. I knew that taking a course from her would be align seamlessly with my own design goals of creating intentional spaces. As we were going through the arrangement portion of the course she said something to me that was so simple yet profound – let each stem have their moment. For me, this meant taking each stem in and out several times to find the exact spot where I felt the moment could happen, but in the end each stem came together to create something that was meaningful to me. We followed up the workshop with an impromptu shoot with Christian Reyes Photography where we continued the color story through the tablescape by incorporating the matte gold flatware, dusty pink napkin ties, and soft blue accents against the modern and industrial storefront of Wylde. Perhaps my favorite accent of day – the Lou & Grey Mustard Romper worn by our model Sarah, an effortlessly chic statement piece. This inspiration would be perfect for an intimate gathering as we say farewell to summer.
I can’t get enough of these early Fall colors and that gorgeous menu.

And of course … that mustard yellow jumpsuit.
This shoot is such a good reminder to let creativity happen and to focus on simple details that can make even the most informal of gatherings something a little magical and extra special.
