Our Newborn and Family Photo Shoot

A few weeks ago we made a trip to Stephanie Anders photography studio in Coral Gables for Scarlett’s very first photo shoot. Hubby and I have never really been photo people; we don’t have family photos on the walls (mostly because we still haven’t gotten around to printing our wedding photos … and we’ve been married four years), we skipped a maternity photo shoot, and never had posed wedding photos taken (the shots from our wedding were all very candid, and very us). I blame being being busy, but alas, there’s something about having a baby that brings the glowing sentimental parent out of you. Memorializing Scarlett as a brand new baby seemed utterly necessary. And with an amazing newborn photographer, the photos were just what we wanted.

Stephanie was incredible with us and Scarlett. Scarlett was so little when we brought her to the studio, at just around five pounds, but Stephanie made all of the pictures look beautiful and natural. Our little girl also cooed and rolled (and peed) for the first half of the session, and Stephanie was ever so patient and helpful (which was a great thing, since we were still very new at the whole parenting thing … ahem, we travel with at least three bags when we bring Scarlett anywhere, and still managed to run out of milk.)

Stephanie’s studio was also accessible and lovely, and she had about a million-and-one gorgeous props, blankets, floral crowns, and more. As she set up each scene, I “shopped” the rows and rows of accessories, and we played dress up at the photo shoot with Scarlett for hours.

We couldn’t be happier with the results and hope you love them as much as we do!
