The fashion world has been on pins and needles awaiting the first collection by Banana Republic with Marissa Webb (former head of J.Crew women’s wear design) at the helm. And on Monday, that very collection, with Webb as the new creative director for Banana Republic, was finally showcased in New York.
Not only is the Summer 15 collection stunning and so very on-trend – bravo, Banana Republic – but the styling is on point. Each and every piece and pairing looks as though it was made for the other and no doubt, every girl will be eager to copy the looks, head-to-toe. The crisp sweaters and button-ups, sleeveless jackets, jumpsuits, the blazers and biker jackets (especially the blazers and biker jackets), distressed denim (so unlike Banana), pops of vivid color, even the culottes look chic. Banana Republic may be more commonly known for their office appropriate contemporary style, but it looks like Webb’s Banana is going cool girl classic all the way. I’m digging it.
So … are you loving Marissa Webb’s first Banana Republic collection? (I for one, cannot wait to see what she does for Fall. Clue number one has me so excited!)
