All The Cool Girls Are Wearing Them: Woven Leather Mules

Odds are, you’ve probably seen a pair of funky, laid-back woven leather mules pop up on the feed of one of your favorite instagrammers by now. All the cool girls are wearing them. Woven slides, with unmistakable hippie vibes, are nothing new; they’ve been popular for decades, and for good reason. Comfortable, and meant to wear with your steps over time, to give you that perfect, worn-in, just-right fit, woven leather mules are most comfort hounds’ best friend.

I think I’m particularly hung up on the casual shoe/slide trend, because these slides in particular remind me of sandals handmade in the Florida Keys, or house shoes I can remember my Bubby wearing so many years ago when her and my Poppy had a farm in the Dominican Republic.

While some woven leather mules have an almost deconstructed, extremely laid-back “vacation” vibe to them, like these Matisse Morocco Woven Mule, there are plenty of sleeker versions like these Seychelles slides.
