I am a human magpie to beauty purchases. The drugstore makeup aisle is my happy place. A department store beauty counter is my mecca. I love that lipstick can add an instant pop of glam to any outfit, a different perfume for day and night can make you feel like a whole new vixen, a fresh manicure can get you right on trend. And for the most part, most of my beauty obsessions are easily under $30. Winning.
And, drumroll (yes, I’m that nerdy … and I know you know by now!) … I am so excited to be a part of the exclusive Glam Beauty Board. For my first foray into all things beauty, I received a special box filled with skincare, hair care, perfume, and cosmetics. So without further ado, the Beauty musts for Spring …
Benefit Fine-One-One, $30: This was probably the item I was most giddy about. I’ve wanted to try an illuminator for ages, but I was slightly terrified because my skin is the color of paste, and “golden” doesn’t exactly match. This illuminator actually doubles as a cheek and lip stain … and it’s pink/peach. Per it’s description, a blend of pink champagne, sheer watermelon, and soft coral, all of my favorites, packed into one shimmery smooth formula. #love
Gillette + Olay Razors in Sugarberry, $11: Hands down, the best razors.
EOS Ultra Moisturizing Shave Cream, $5: The scent, Lavender Jasmine, is my new favorite smell. That is until I meet my next batch of homemade cookies. But until then, I actually don’t hate shaving my legs, which is serious progress.
Kenzo Amour I Love You Fragrance, $57 … fresh floral spring scent (hints of grapefruit and peach blossom)
Alessandro Nail Cream, $25: Fight dry cuticles (and dry skin in general) with this rich nail butter packed with coco and sweet mango.
Maybelline Rocket Mascara, $6: I don’t know a girl (or very pretty boy) on the planet, who doesn’t swear by Maybelline mascaras as their go-to drugstore beauty buy. Maybelline’s Rocket Mascara is all about volume – my fave – and it offers up serious boost.
Philosophy Miracle Worker Eye Cream with HPR, $65: Okay, I’ll admit, since entering my late twenties, I’ve begun to panic about things like smile lines and dry skin, so maybe, just maybe, it’s time to start preparing for the future. So many stand by Philosophy and this miracle eye cream combats under eye bags, dark circles, fine lines, and wrinkles.
Burt’s Bees Lip Gloss in Rosy Dawn, $9: I don’t leave the house without lip gloss and this one comes in a dewy shade of pearly pink. Love it!
Olay CC Cream – Total Effects Tone Correcting Moisturizer with SPF, $25: CC Cream is so hot right now, combining instant coverage and correction, and this one has SPF, which in my book, is 100% essential.
First Aid Beauty Ultra Skin Repair Cream, $28: I am obsessed with moisturizing. Obsessed, I tell you. And this repair cream comes in a pretty little tub, perfect for my bedside table.
Biolage ExquisiteOil Replenishing Treatment, $20: This treatment is a weightless formula that you can use either in the shower or after a blowout to condition, control frizz, and give hair some major shine.
