Psst … details about one very awesome GIVEAWAY are at the end of this post!
Admittedly, it’s preschool, and she’ll only be going three half-days a week, but still, I’m full of emotion. My little girl, the baby we all dreamed about, she’s going to school in just a few short weeks.
On Scarlett: Scalloped Eyelet Top // Green Twill Cargo Jacket // Navy TLC Heart Print Leggings // Sparkle Cat Ear Hair Clips // Buckle Boots
She was so little when she was born and even now, she seems so small to me. I know it’s probably a symptom of her being our first, but I can’t help but worry. On our first tour of the preschool I actually asked the program director as she was showing me where the kids get their lunch boxes to eat lunch, “But how will she know how to open a ziploc bag?” Those words actually came out of my mouth. She just laughed and said, “They learn quick.” Even with her sweet reassurances, I do worry. She’s never opened a lunchbox or washed her hands on her own or, let’s face it, sat still for more than five minutes at a time.
But Scarlett left my side the minute we walked into the adorable preschool early this summer on our tour. Within minutes, she was already babbling with a group of little girls. When I told her I was going to follow the program director around, she barely even registered that I had left her with the teacher and a handful of kids. Yep, she’s going to be fine. I, on the other hand, may cry in my car in the parking lot.
Thankfully, I’m in full-on back-to-school ready mode, so I don’t have all that much time to worry. I’ve ordered her backpack and lunch bag and I’ve found so many cute outfits from OshKosh B’gosh. They’ve always been our go-to source for kids fashion (Don’t miss our 7 Tips for Packing and Traveling With a Toddler), and when it comes to back-to-school outfits, they’re my favorite.
Scarlett’s Back-to-School Outfits: Rip-&-Repair Denim Overalls in Nineties Wash // Scalloped Eyelet Top // Green Twill Cargo Jacket // Navy TLC Heart Print Leggings // Sparkle Cat Ear Hair Clips // Buckle Boots // Eyelet Flutter-Sleeve Top // Removed Pocket Chambray Top // 4-Pack Bow Snap Clips // Knit Cardigan // Neon Flutter-Sleeve Lace Yoke Tee // Heather Cat Leggings
OshKosh B’gosh has so many of the cutest styles and trends (made just for minis .. how cute?), everything is affordable, and their clothing washes so well. Their pieces mix-and-match, which gives us plenty of options; a plus, as Scarlett gets older and has started to have an opinion when it comes to what she wears. Scarlett is such a skinny minny that we tend to stick to leggings and overalls, but all of OshKosh’s clothes, shoes and accessories are beyond adorable.
I mean, look at these boots …
When it comes to back-to-school shopping, I really try to find pieces that I can maximize. I love tops that can be paired with many different outfits (especially when they have sweet touches like lace details); shirts, cardigans and jackets that can be layered as the cooler months roll in so that Scarlett can keep on wearing her favorite outfits; and pants and leggings with a bit of give and stretch so that she can grow with them.
Scarlett loves anything and everything with cats on them, so I was excited when we found her very own kitty ears and the cutest pair of cat leggings. (When she caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror wearing her new cat ear hair clips, she kept saying, “Ohhh, Hi, Kitty.” It was the cutest.) It’s so much fun letting her explore her budding sense of style, especially when kids style is this adorable.
Have you started your back-to-school shopping yet? Trust me, OshKosh B’gosh is the place to go for the cutest in kids style!
