Though I won’t be sad to see the hotter temperatures disappear as Summer is officially winding down (or at least in the case of Miami, dropping maybe five degrees), I will miss all of the crisp white shades in fashion and design. I tend to stick to monochromatic colors: black and white will forever be my go-tos (with pops of color and metallic here and there). And after getting plenty of inspiration from Crystalin’s Summer guest post all about wearing Summer whites, I’m certain I can’t let white go. Who says you can’t wear white after Labor Day?
A few tips for wearing white well into Fall (and Winter):
- Pair whites with classic neutrals, like camel, grey, and black for a sophisticated fall look.
- Look for creamier “Winter” whites, rather than overly bright whites. (There is a difference!)
- Shop for soft white fabrics – think sweaters, soft cotton, and lace.
- Pairing black and white is always a good idea.
I am a stickler for keeping my whites (and mostly whites) extra white; with Clorox® Smart Seek™ Bleach you can now bleach your patterned whites in addition to your all-whites (just because they have a pattern doesn’t mean the whites should get dingy.) Not only is Clorox® Smart Seek™ Bleach great for keeping solid white clothes bright, it’s color safe on most striped white, patterned white and screen printed whites when used as directed, so you can toss them in with your solid whites.
By the way, if you’re on-site at their activation this Saturday, you can share a picture on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook of your favorite pattern using #SmartSeekNYFW #Sweeps and #smartseek for a chance to win invites to a Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week show. Good luck!
