Easter is right around the corner, and I have the sweetest activity to do with the kids: a DIY kids Easter basket station! (Plus, ideas for what to fill your little ones’ Easter baskets with.)
In case you missed it, a few weeks back we threw a “Some Bunny Loves You” Kids Indoor Picnic Easter Party, and at our little soirée, we shared a peek at this DIY Easter basket station. Setting up a DIY Easter basket station is super easy, and the kids will absolutely love it! Plus, everyone will get to create their own personalized Easter basket with goodies they chose and love. (i.e., Scarlett filled her basket with baby chicks and jelly beans, and couldn’t have been happier.)
Putting together a Kids Easter basket station is simple and fun!
To set up our DIY Kids easter basket station, I put together a little felt letter board sign so kids knew where to make their own easter baskets, a stack of cotton rope easter Baskets that I fell instantly for when I saw them on Amazon because they can easily be re-used after easter as an adorable storage container for things like hair bows and toys in the girls’ rooms, tissue paper (Easter grass works well too!), friendship bracelets, pinwheels, plastic easter eggs (that we filled with jelly beans and stickers), little chicks, and the cutest white berry baskets to hold all of the candy.
DIY KIDS EASTER BASKET STATION
What You’ll Need:
- a sign (i.e., a small chalkboard or felt letter board sign)
- enough small easter baskets for all of the kids (we used these cotton rope easter Baskets)
- basket filler like tissue paper or easter grass
- friendship bracelets
- pinwheels
- plastic easter eggs
- small toys and treats to put in the easter eggs like jelly beans, stickers, and temporary tattoos
- little chicks
- baskets and bowls to hold things
- plenty of candy
Directions:
Put out a stack of Easter baskets, and then set all of the fillers, toys and candy out in bowls or open containers on a low table or counter. (i.e., make sure everything is accessible for the kids.)
Be sure to put up your sign so guests know to make a basket to take home with them!
As you can imagine, Scarlett absolutely adored creating her own easter basket.
How much candy actually made it into the basket is debatable.
