Love is in the air this summer and I’m dreaming up little ways to celebrate our upcoming 7th wedding anniversary. I can’t believe it’s been almost seven whole years being married to my guy, and way longer than that together. (Did you know we’re high school sweethearts?)
We’ve always been smitten with travel, and even had our destination wedding at a charming little place called Migis Lodge in Maine. We love Migis so much, a few years later, I surprised him with a weekend away there, and we had the best time soaking up the sun, eating lobster, stumbling upon the best festivals, and stuffing ourselves with their famous peaches and cream muffins.
This year, we have a toddler (who just turned three!) and another baby girl on the way, so jetting off to the resort where we got married is probably not in the cards. Still, I wanted to make the upcoming anniversary special, and with baby number two’s arrival happening just before our own anniversary, I’m thinking celebrating early is the best route. Sometimes, as evidenced by our surprise trip above, I love pulling off big surprises, but most of the time, it’s the little things that can feel just as special.
I took a quick trip to Walgreens in search of an anniversary card. Hallmark Signature cards are the perfect way to tell someone you care, and their cards are just so darn pretty.
And funny enough, the phrase on the card, “I love us,” is actually something we say to each other ALL of the time. We’ve been together for so many years, and always talk about how lucky we feel to have found one another so young. Every day, I fall in love with him a little bit more, and having what we have; it never stops feeling special. By the way, through 7/19 there is a Text 2 Clip offer that shoppers can get when they are in store for a Hallmark offer.
We’re also BIG fans of breakfast in bed. To celebrate our milestone, I went elegant and sweet, and hubby was completely surprised.
Then I managed to whip up my own version of our favorite peaches and cream muffins, plus plenty of coffee, and surprised hubby with breakfast in bed.
And let’s not forget the peonies. I’ll be using them in our house until I can’t find another anywhere. I love summer.
How have you celebrated the big LOVE milestones?
By the way, you can snag the recipe for these peaches and cream muffins with a cream cheese glaze frosting right here.

I love giving cards! I have a huge stock with different types. It’s actually a problem of mine, buying cards when I don’t need them.
