When I was little, my mom had this embroidered short sleeve midi-length dress (like this) that always hung in the back of my bedroom closet. It was white with colorful embroidery on the chest, and the thought of my mom wearing that dress always made me love her just a little bit more. The dress seemed so vintage, and yet sophisticated, breezy and bright. The traditional Mexican dress, like the one my mom had, peaked in popularity in the 1970s and have hit mainstream once again … and I’m not complaining.

The classic Mexican dress style has a very forgiving loose fit – perfect to beat the heat – and the delicate embroidered detail makes each dress unique and special.
