A week into October and I’m decorating our home for Halloween, little by little. Truth is, the party buckets were the last to get unpacked (as in, they’re still upstairs in the bonus room, taunting me.) I need a room dedicated to my crafts and party supplies. Ahem … take note, hubby. With a blank slate (our new house!) and a few pumpkins sprinkled here and there, I’m looking to the internet for major stylish Halloween décor and party inspiration.
When it comes to Halloween, and most holidays, I love mixing DIY projects (small crafts here and there) with store-bought items that have a craftier feel (like this spooky wreath!) Because we’re in our brand new home, I’m trying to add a stylish, more chic feel to our holiday décor. When I’m working on decorating something like a mantle, entryway, or dining room table, I try to have a great focal piece: a cool clock, mirror, vintage frames, a cage or candles. Don’t be afraid to pull design elements from other rooms to decorate your holiday “space.” I may or may not have dragged our huge gilded mirror into the living room, from our bedroom, to start decorating with cobwebs. Now I’m on the hunt for branches and crows.

Love those bats, Lexi! My kids have been begging for some scary decorations this year. I see a trip to Party City in my very near future.
