New York Fashion Week, Part 2

Today I’m back with the rest of my New York Fashion Week adventure; first up, Lincoln Center …

Sunday morning I was up bright and early to attend the Lela Rose show at Lincoln Center. I spotted Brittany Snow in the front row, and about ten dresses that need to be in my closet next Spring.  I also met Erin of Apartment 34, whose blog I’ve followed (and loved) for years.  Lincoln Center is the heart of New York Fashion Week; although there are shows scattered around the city, most of the big name events are held in Lincoln Center.  It’s crazy and crowded, you wait in line a lot to get into the tents, out front, photographers are eagerly waiting in clusters to photograph a celebrity (who typically either slip in the back entrance or walk through the entrance flanked by photographers and PR people), designer, or someone dressed worthy of a street style photo (and the subjects go all out: think women in neon with fruit on their head walking a pack of toy poodles, true statement.)  Even if you never make it into a show, though you should definitely try, I’d highly recommend grabbing a coffee and a bagel and sitting out front to catch the show going on just outside Lincoln Center: the people-watching.  (To learn more about Lincoln Center and the ensuing madness, definitely check out Hallie’s post on what the tents and shows are really like.)

From Lincoln Center, we made our way to the Birchbox Local Lounge at Milk Studios.  Birchbox set up the perfect refresh and recharge station: with hair, nails, makeup, snacks, candy, and power outlets (a hot commodity to charge phones during fashion week.) I also got my hair done – beachy waves – which I loved!

After Birchbox, Caitlin, Alyson, and I snuck over to Chelsea Market – one of my favorite places in New York – for a quick lunch.  (Evidence of my incredible lobster roll, on Instagram.)

Then we were off to the AllSaints SS14 Preview at this amazing warehouse space in Soho.  I’ve always been a fan of AllSaints – the luxe leathers, the great jackets and boots, the stunning details, and their Spring collection captures all of that and then some.

After AllSaints, we made our way to the RewardStyle rooftop party at the Empire Hotel.  I got the chance to have a drink and hang out with Victoria, Grace, Jenni, Lynzy, and Jessie, and a few of my favorite brands, including Joie, Gorjana & Griffin, Mark and Graham, and Theory, who were all in attendance as well.

And last but not least, I attended the GLAM Media dinner at Morimoto. Morimoto is so delicious, it’s crazy. And I got the chance to play with a few fabulous bloggers, Jessica, Mara, Hallie, Liz, Devon, Ashley, Alyson, Jenny and Lynsey, to name only a few.

By the way, taking pictures next to fellow bloggers made me realize just how short I am.  In heels.  Also, I’m very pale.  (Did I mention my stylist at the video shoot earlier in the week nicknamed me “paleness”?  Fitting, don’t you think?)

Monday morning I stuffed myself back into a cab, iced coffee in hand, with an extra jacket (a.k.a., the cutest Forever 21 leather jacket you ever did lay eyes on!), a new studded Joelle Hawkins x Treesje clutch, my brand new Phillip Lim x Target bag, snacks for hubby, and a whole bunch of beauty products, and I headed for MIA.  I had to make sad face at the flight check-in counter at JFK to convince them to let me hand over my way overweight luggage on without the exorbitant fee.  Nailed it.  All in all, an awesome trip!

Now, go enter to win some amazing giveaways and be on the lookout for even more next week!
