Yippee! The ever-lovely Sarah of Raving Fashionista awarded me the Stylish Blogger Award. And like the geek that I am, I did a dance in my little office and immediately texted my husband (I might as well speak Greek to him when reporting my daily blog news, but at least he said, “yay.” I’ve trained him well!)
As an award recipient (yeah yeah, I’m picturing myself at the Oscars in a couture gown – don’t judge), I have a few simple tasks:
- Thank and link back to the person who gave you the award. {Thank you again, Sarah – you rock!}
- Share 7 things about yourself.
- Award 10 recently discovered bloggers.
- Contact those bloggers and let them know they’ve won.
So here goes:
(1) I have an online shopping obsession. I generally shop at online boutiques with free round-trip shipping, that way I can try on the item and return it – no questions asked. I must scare the heck out of my Visa card. The computer-based shopping addiction all started back in high school, when I discovered ebay. Half the fun of shopping is the hunt, and on ebay, you get to verify an item’s authenticity and haggle over the price – all from the comfort of your sofa. Score.
(2) I love to bake but I actually can’t eat sugar – at all. In a bizarre twist of fate, I believe this has saved me from several cavities and 30 extra pounds added to my waistline.
(3) I listen to 90s music nearly exclusively. I like what’s popular on the radio, but I can’t get enough Third Eye Blind, Weezer, Counting Crows, Nirvana, Everclear, DMB, old-school Outkast, Travis, Wilco, and so on.
(4) I use the word “fabulous” to describe everything.
(5) I walk around with a soundtrack to my life streaming through my head. Seriously – every time I walk into a room, a song is accompanying my entrance, you just can’t hear it.
(6) I can’t buy an outfit without considering how to pair it with tights and a cardigan. I often think about how to branch out with this blog – and I always briefly consider and then scrap the idea of forcing my poor husband into taking photos of my outfits each morning. By day 7, and the 7th pair of tights and cardigan combo, everyone would lose interest. I blame Blair Waldorf.
(7) My family and I quote movies ad nauseam. I think … no, I know … that we are quite annoying. Not only do we find an apropos movie quote for every situation, but after we have delivered the line point-blank, we laugh like hyenas … even if we are the only ones laughing (and we usually are). You can see how this would get awkward fast when only one of us is in the room.
I have no idea if any of that was interesting at all, but there you have it!
