Couture Glasses (+ a Giveaway)

I have been on the hunt for that perfect pair of glasses for what feels like an eternity now.  I have also been near-blind since about the second grade when my teacher caught me squinting up at the chalkboard.  It was all downhill after that.  Since then I’ve been through one disastrous pair of prescription glasses after the other.  I went through my red plastic Sally Jesse Raphael glasses phase.  I broke a few pairs in between those.  Then I had a thin tortoise shell pair of frames that I’ve painfully worn, only on those days when I could not stand to wear my contacts for a second longer.  But today, I’m ready to proudly wear my glasses.  (Evidence, below.)  Geek has to be chic by now … right?

Joe Zee,  Elle Magazine’s creative director and top fashion expert, talks fashionable glasses in a new digital series, Eyes on Style, putting a fresh lens on frames and showing us that no matter what your personal style, a chic pair of glasses can elevate any look to a whole new level.  (Catch the series here!)

And I too finally found my perfect pair: I adore these Dolce & Gabbana glasses (below) because they’re fashionable geek … just.like.me.  (In full disclosure, I may be more geek than the norm.)  They’re couture, just a little bit exaggerated, and also pretty darn awesome.  You like?

I stalk you on all corners of the internet…and in life. -creep status- does that count as a contest entry? i do need some awesome reading glasses… and I feel like people at work judge me because I like glitter and My Little Pony and they don’t think I’m as smart as I am. I figure glasses can add +7 intelligence.
