This awesome 3-ingredient glitter slime is super simple to make since you probably have most of the ingredients in your home, and kids are obsessed! It’s a perfect kids activity.
DIY glitter slime. It’s everywhere. It’s the DIY that keeps on giving. I can remember making homemade play doh and slime as a kid with my mom, and getting to do all of these simple and fun projects all over again with my own little girls, it’s way too much fun. Right now, at least in our house, this 3-ingredient glitter slime is having a major moment.
Slime has officially become the family craft of the summer. (And fall, winter, and spring as well!) We’ve made glitter slime three times now – pink glitter slime, purple glitter slime, and gold glitter slime – and have big plans to create Halloween slime in October by trying our hand at green glitter slime with googly eyes.

And did you know, slime is a kid-friendly recipe that takes just 3 ingredients to make? As if that’s not awesome enough, the best part is: you probably already have the commonly used household items in your own bathroom and kitchen needed to make this slime; i.e., no frenzied trips to the grocery store to snag the right ingredients.
The Ingredients You Will Need to Make Your Own 3-Ingredient Glitter Slime:
- one 6 oz bottle of glitter school glue (we use Elmer’s*)
- ½ tablespoon of baking soda
- 1½ tablespoons of contact lens solution
*I’ve actually learned to keep our favorite Elmer’s Liquid Glitter Glue in the craft cabinet, so that we can make homemade 3-ingredient glitter slime any ‘ol time!
One batch of this 3-Ingredient Glitter Slime will last at least a few weeks if you store it properly.
Once your child is done playing with their 3-ingredient slime, put it in a ziploc sandwich bag or tupperware container with a lid that seals well, toss it in the fridge, and use it again and again. You can also “gift” slime to friends. These little zip top bags are perfect! I also have my eye on these new Target’s (re)zip Leak-Proof Stand Up Storage Bags.
