Okay, okay, remember that time I said I wasn’t going to post for a week? Umm, yesterday. You know, for the sake of the holidays and giving myself a break and all of that jazz. Yeah well, I lied. I got too excited and totally forgot about this adorable DIY farmhouse New Year’s Eve wood sign. You might have seen it in the post a few weeks back all about how to transition your décor from the holidays to New Year’s Eve. This farmhouse sign is a fun and fast DIY … just like this fun and fast post. So I’m sharing how to make this adorable DIY farmhouse New Year’s Eve wood sign that you can keep on your mantle or hang in your gallery wall all year long.
Happy making! (And I hope you all are having a WONDERFUL holiday break.)
DIY FARMHOUSE NEW YEAR’S EVE WOOD SIGN
What You’ll Need
Wood Board
Numbers
Gold Spray Paint
Wood Glue or a Hot Glue Gun
Twine
Hammer
4 Nails
How To
Any wood board will do! I had held onto this white wood board and I kept trying to come up with a way to use it. This DIY turned out to be the perfect project. (Michaels actually has a great selection of hanging wood boards and smaller wood-framed chalkboards and you can also ask for a piece of wood cut at your local home improvement store.)
I found wood numbers at our local craft store, but house numbers from your local home improvement store will work well too. Spray-painted those gold and allow to dry completely.
Knot four pieces of twine, creating a loop. Glue a twine knot to the back of each number.
Hammer four nails into the front of your board, each equal distance apart.
Once the glue has dried, hang your 2-0-1-7 numbers onto your board.
Voilà! The cutest DIY farmhouse sign around.
The best part about this simple DIY is that you can easily buy a new number to change up the year. (I bought a number “8” for next year as well.)
Be sure to allow your glue to dry completely on the back of your numbers before hanging on your nails.
Happy New Year to all of you!
