Playing Dress-up: Pastels

spring summer floral blazer grey dress pastels _ glitterinc.com

Once I spotted that floral blazer on the Zara website, I knew I had to create a look around it.  (By the way, is this not the most perfect Spring-to-Summer blazer?)  I love that this outfit could work from a day at work to a night out for cocktails with friends.  And a cotton-jersey mini dress that’s the kind of dress you could live in for Summer.  Paint me obsessed.

Table Setting (A Stylish Diagram)

Really, I’m in love with all of the work by Amy Borrell.  Her illustrations are unbelievably detailed and all feature a soft pastel palette (as you can probably tell from the blog’s design, I’m a sucker for pastels and watercolors).   But what caught my eye almost instantly was this darling “How To Set A Table” series, and in particular, the chic step-by-step guide to a perfectly set table top.  Swoon.

Inspired By Collections of Color

I put together this little inspiration board over on Glitter Weddings, but the images are too pretty not to share here.

I am a color fiend (though you wouldn’t know it from my black/white/gray/sequined wardrobe), and these images have me grinning from ear to ear – all of the colors are bright, but not too bright, and all feel inspired by nature.

Painted branches — added to the DIY list.

Inspired by Collections of Color

I’ve always been a fiend for color (though you wouldn’t know it from my black/white/gray/sequined wardrobe) and in the months leading up to my big day, choosing the colors was one of the toughest choice for me. When it finally came down to it, I chose them all.  With bursts of color everywhere, I was a much happier camper.  {You can read about my centerpieces here.}

These images have me grinning from ear to ear – all of the colors are bright, but not too bright, and all feel inspired by nature.

A Rainbow of Pastels

Aren’t these images just lovely?  The shades of pastel remind me of a tray of jelly beans or box of colored chalk.  Can I rewind and go back to Kindergarten for a little while?
