Happy Friday! It’s been a busy week with the holidays in full swing, hubby’s department holiday party last night, and a bunch of holiday parties coming up. Plus, it looks like we’re getting a pretty decent-sized snowstorm this weekend. I’m headed to the grocery store today, and I can only imagine what it’s going to look like between holiday shopping and snow madness. Wish me luck! (Also, anyone wanna explain to me why everyone panics and buys milk and bread right before a storm? I’ve never understood that one!)
I’ll be sharing what we’re up to throughout the weekend over on instagram (lots of fun behind-the-scenes on my insta stories too!), facebook, and twitter. Follow along! How about you? Any exciting weekend plans?
With that, a few little love notes to the things I loved most this week …
Dear mindfulness perks, wait until you read about the remarkable brain waves of high level meditators.
Dear YA fans, I just started reading Obsidian, the first book in the Lux series, after SO many people recommended it. I’m maybe a third of the way in, and already, I’m totally hooked. I’ll be sure to keep y’all posted!
Dear dry shampoo woes, this one-minute hack has me totally intrigued.
Dear Sunday plans, this might be the best celebrity “Sunday routine” I’ve ever read. (Worth the read for a relatable laugh.)
Dear interior know how, every item to save and splurge on, for every room in your house.
Dear maybe it’s time for a tech break, these photos prove smartphones really are everywhere. (And are kind of haunting, right?)
Dear weekend baking (err … frying), classic potato latkes. (Note: If you plan to try your hand at latkes, I definitely recommend using a food processor with the shredder attachment to grate the potatoes and onions, which eliminates the labor-intensive aspect of latkes. Also, flour works just as well as matzoh meal, in case you don’t have that on hand. Also, if you just want to go to your local Whole Foods and pick up already made latkes, no judgment at all. I may or may not be doing the same.)
