Happy (almost) weekend! It’s been a crazy week with the tail end of Hurricane Michael hitting us yesterday. Thankfully, other than power loss around the community and a whole lot of wind, we were mostly spared the worst of the storm. My heart goes out to everyone in Florida affected by the storm. As a Florida girl myself, I know just how catastrophic hurricanes can be.
We have a busy weekend ahead, including a visit to the North Carolina State Fair, which is, in a word: incredible. We couldn’t make it last year since I was ready to pop with Emmeline, but we’ve been in years past, and it is one amazing fair. You can read all about the N.C. State Fair, plus really stinkin’ cute pictures of tiny Scarlett, here.
I’ll be sharing what we’re up to throughout the weekend over on instagram (lots of fun behind-the-scenes on my insta stories too!), facebook, and twitter. Follow along! How about you? Any exciting weekend plans?
With that, a few little love notes to the things I loved most this week …
1 – Dear scents of fall, though I’ve never been the biggest pumpkin spice fan (shocking, right?), this Capri Blue Pumpkin Clove Jar Candle that I picked up from Anthropologie after so many people recommended it to me is rocking my world. It smells just like fall, in all of the best ways, and the subtle pumpkin clove scent isn’t cloying or syrupy or artificial … a trait that usually makes me loathe all things pumpkin. If you’ve been looking for the perfect fall candle, this one is it.
2 – Dear not so perfect life, why illuminating flaws, rather than hiding them, is the way to go.
3 – Dear kitchen know how, these are the 8 fruits and vegetables you shouldn’t be refrigerating.
4 – Dear organization hacks, the trick for being a neat freak in no time flat.
5 – Dear crafters, can someone embroider one of these for me? Pretty please.
6 – Dear happiness advice, 4 rituals that will make you happier from a neuroscience researcher.
7 – Dear weekend baking, pumpkin sheet cake.
