Little by little we’re sprucing up our new (old) house, and one of the things we’ve started focusing on is curb appeal. It’s amazing what things like a new mailbox, above-the-garage lanterns, and a little landscaping (i.e., we planted a few wildflowers around our entryway this summer) can do for a home. Right now I have my sights set on our front door. We already painted our formerly light blue door a glossy black, and I’m looking for the perfect way to accessorize. Because yes, you can accessorize your front door! With a fresh set of hardware and a funky door knocker, that’s how. A door knocker in particular adds so much character to a home before you’ve even stepped inside. Door knockers are like jewelry for your door. And did you know there were some really cool door knockers on the market?
Anthropologie always has quirky and adorable door knockers in their home section and Amazon also happens to have a surprisingly good selection of modern and vintage-inspired door knockers. I mean, how can your guests not feel welcomed by this brass pineapple door knocker? And these monogram door knockers are so different and yet still somehow classic. Fancy a lobster? A fox? A pinecone?
There’s plenty of inspiration ahead …
