How to Make Painted Rocks

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Make sure your rocks are clean and dry. I love river rocks because they're nice and smooth.
  2. Paint whatever designs you want. Use different sized tips of toothpicks, skewers, lollipop sticks, etc. to create mandala patterns and dots. Use painters tape to make stripes and lines.
  3. Once your paint is dry, spray your painted rocks outside with a coat of clear gloss to keep your designs intact.
  4. Have fun with your new painted rocks!

Notes

There are so many fun uses for painted rocks. Use your rocks as paper weights, decorate shelves, go on nature walks and hide the painted rocks around your neighborhood with the kids, turn them into fridge magnets using small magnetic discs and industrial strength glue, have the kids make and give their painted rocks as gifts. The list goes on and on!
