A Renovated Family Farmhouse in Woodside

Farmhouse style is so popular in home and interior design right now. Anyone else completely obsessed with Fixer Upper’s Chip and Joanna Gaines? Watch a few episodes of the popular HGTV show and you’ll want to shiplap everything. I’m no exception; so when I laid eyes on this fully renovated bright, white family farmhouse, I couldn’t wait to share a few glimpses inside. This is modernized farmhouse style done so right.

A Renovated Family Farmhouse in Woodside - Entryway

Right from the start, two banana trees in large galvanized metal buckets frame the entrance for a bright and bold first impression. I’m also majorly crushing on the idea of placing a natural jute rug just outside the front door. So warm and welcoming.

Want that grey and white striped rug.

The rustic wood touches and exposed wood beams (left natural) are a nod to the home’s farmhouse roots.

Both the white marble kitchen and the beautifully lit open dining room feel modern and fresh. (a.k.a., Pinterest-worthy.)

Definitely copying this foyer style. So sleek yet welcoming.

Villa Palmier Vacation Beach House in St. Barts

I can’t stop dreaming of the beach. (Remember this stunner?) So when I laid eyes on this gorgeous beach home, I fell hard. Matt and Kate Holstein, a couple from Aspen, Colorado, recently remodeled their dream beach house for themselves and guests on the Caribbean island of St. Barts. Kate is a photographer with a passion for interior design (and it shows!), and her husband Matt has a background in construction and real estate. Together, they revamped their idyllic Villa Palmier with the idea of bringing the locale’s pristine outdoors in.

This home is exactly the kind of escape to the Caribbean you’d want: at just 1,000 square feet, though the space is small, it’s open and bright, and because everything is designed with an open view to the sea, it feels vast. This is indoor/outdoor living at it’s finest, with two of the walls opening up entirely to the outside. And the best part? It’s actually a vacation rental.

The ceilings, the mostly white rooms and oversized slip-covered sectional sofa, the rustic wood touches, the straw floor cushions; it’s a beachy paradise.

The gold touches in the kitchen keep the space feeling modern and a little bit edgy.

Never have I ever so badly wanted a dining room space with a view. (And I’ll forever love that Reclaimed Wood Dining Room Set.)

And the location … well, it’s in St. Barths. Enough said.

The Dreamiest Coastal Home in Seagrove Beach

Just wait until you peek inside this beach house with coastal interiors designed by Old Seagrove Homes; it’s a stunner. The details will give you all of those seaside vibes, in just the right dose.

Happy home-touring.

I will forever crush on farmhouse sinks. And built-in breakfast nooks.

The Dreamiest Coastal Home in Seagrove Beach - Kitchen Nook

And as much as I love an all-white kitchen, the darker cypress cabinets, floating shelves, and backsplash in this home have me completely re-thinking my stance. This kitchen perfectly mixes rustic elements (the wood was kept natural with only a seal to keep it protected) and modern, polished elements like white quartzite countertops and sleek stainless steel appliances.

I love this sitting area just outside of the master bedroom. An arched doorway leads to the room and is flanked by built-in bookcases with distressed plank boards. And the vaulted ceiling with Cypress wood beams in that master? I’ll take it all, please.

A Modern Manhattan Apartment with a Key to Gramercy Park

Actress Uma Thurman’s Manhattan apartment (a sort of “duplex” created by combining two apartments in the building) has been listed on StreetEasy, giving us a rare glimpse into her stunning home. And even if potential buyers aren’t wowed by the stunning apartment itself, it has perhaps one of the most coveted apartment features for New Yorkers: a key to the private Gramercy Park.

The apartment, built in 1910, wraps around two corners of the building and the interior was redesigned by architect Paul Scott specially for Uma. There’s a wood-burning fireplace in the living room, a tin ceiling in the kitchen, original herringbone oak floors (swoon!), and ten-foot ceilings throughout the residence. On the main floor there’s a renovated modern kitchen with a walnut counter, eat-in breakfast bar, and copper sink, a large dining room with a terrace overlooking the park, a master suite bedroom and second master, plus three more bedrooms, there’s even a gorgeous tiled Turkish steam bath.

An English White Cabin Beach Home Tour

I’ve just discovered The White Cabin in the village of Winchelsea, a beach town in East Sussex, South England. And the best part? It’s for rent. Not that I’ll be getting to England any time soon, but oh, a girl can dream. The cottage boasts an open A-frame ceiling, exposed beams (my favorite!), industrial vintage lighting, so many cool rustic touches, bleached white everything, and one heck of a beach side view. Come on in!

Love the rustic floating island in the kitchen, the open shelving, and the black scissor accordion wall lamp.

Also, can we talk about the bleached white floor boards? Think my hubby would notice if I painted our floors all white on a random Tuesday?

Park Slope, Brooklyn Bright White Home Tour

Jessie Randall, the creative director behind one of my absolute favorite shoe and handbag line’s, Loeffler Randall, shares a stunning bright white modern home in Park Slope, Brooklyn, with her husband, three kids and dog. They renovated from top to bottom and the results are brilliant; I had to share just a peek into this home tour.

Jessi Randall of Loeffler Randall's Sleek White Park Slope, Brooklyn Renovation - Modern Kitchen Design

The home is located in Park Slope, an area becoming more and more popular with each passing year, certainly attracts the coolest of the cool.

And Jessie just seems cool – not that that should surprise anyone at all – in that understated, too cool to realize she’s cool, making dorky even cooler, kind of way. “I do a lot of knitting, cross-stitching, sewing, quilting. I once got asked in an interview what I want to be when I grow up and I said, I want to be a grandmother.”

Jessi Randall of Loeffler Randall's Sleek White Park Slope, Brooklyn Renovation - Rainbow Color Organized Bookshelf Library Design

On arranging her books by color: “The knitting store Purl has everything organized by rainbow colors; it’s lovely. Then I was home for the day last year, and, on a whim, I said, I’m going to do it! It actually took kind of a long time.”

Both the colorful book displays and the unique, yet somehow subtle wallpaper, really pop against a bright white backdrop. (Ahh, the power of white paint!)
