This Vanilla Blackberry-Mascarpone Cake from Sweetapolita is both visually perfect and sounds absolutely delicious. I’ve always loved a wedding cake that isn’t trying too hard to be a wedding cake. The gradual ombré look of the cake could also work with any wedding or party color scheme, but the dark blackberry shade here, tied into a pastel lavender and a minty turquoise is just beautiful.
Any shoe with feathers is an instant friend of mine, but what really got me was the gorgeous shade of purple. I don’t think a more perfect warm Winter wedding color exists. The details: this is the Badgley Mischka Ginnie heel in violet suede.

After featuring an inspiration board full of lush winter berry tones, it wasn’t much of a stretch to feature this gorgeous (and unusual) dip-dyed velvet and lace dress. Plus, the bride looks like Belle from a real-life version of Beauty and the Beast – even her dress looks something right out of a story book.
I am loving these deep jewel-toned colors, especially for winter weddings. The flowers – anemones, ranunculuses, tea roses, red and viburnum berries, a lush navy or royal purple invitation, a dark chocolate cake topped with sugared cranberries, spiced liquor to toast and a cool glass of raspberry tea after plenty of dancing.

Admittedly, I’m a fan of Fall because I have an excuse to wear tights and cardigans once again. (That’s not to say that I don’t wear them most of the Summer, but once Fall has arrived, I get fewer bizarre looks as I chill on the beach in tweed.)
And though Summer is still hanging on, every fashion publication (Hello, September issue!) is launching a major push for Fall threads, colors, and my ever-favorite: booties. But one easy Fall trend you can get on without having to re-stock your wardrobe? Nail polish. I LOVE nail polish. And though I’m not kind to my polish – I store it in a giant bin under my bathroom sink (so chic!) – I love to buy more and more. This Fall’s color trend is looking rather royal, and I dig it. So I’m off to the store to stock up on burgundies, navies, emerald greens, and more.
Are you a fan of the new fall hues? Have a favorite?

The colors of this wedding are fantastic: plum, nude, peach, taupe, and grey. They’re also delicate enough to work in any season – Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. And the fashion itself – I am SO in love. Each bridesmaid rocks a very vintage, very chic variation, using the wedding’s warm color scheme. The bridesmaids all have on gorgeous patterned tights in cream, black, and grey; some bridesmaids wore patterns, some wore sleeves, one fabulous bridesmaid even rocked a cream romper! This is mismatched bridesmaid styling at it’s best.
Not to mention this fashion-forward wedding was actually held at an airplane hangar — check out all of the wedding images on Once Wed.
