Little Love Notes

Lifestyle blogger Lexi of Glitter, Inc. shares a few little love notes to the things she loved most this week, including this Meh pillow, Notting Hill, and apple cinnamon rolls. | glitterinc.com | @glitterinc

It’s been four weeks to the day since little Emme joined our crazy crew, and goodness, she fits. But I get asked daily, “How’s she sleeping?” And I can’t help but chuckle to myself. How do newborns sleep? Meh. That’s pretty much my answer to everyone. I mean, she sleeps; in 1-3 hour intervals. And they ask, because we’ve all been there. The sleep deprivation is real. The struggle to juggle it all is real. The better question is probably, “How are you surviving?” And we are. We’re surviving, with all of the help we can get; and like every stage with babies and kids, this too shall pass. (For the record, I type that with one finger as I rock her with the other arm, feverishly making that “shushing” sound and dreaming of my now cold coffee just out of reach. But I’m about to hit publish on this blog post, so I’m considering this morning a great success.)

As for the weekend, tomorrow is Hubby’s birthday! Scarlett is SO excited – mostly, I think, because of the prospect of cake. Girl has her priorities. Odds of her donning the princess costume for the festivities are high.  Other than that, we’re playing the weekend by ear. Rumor has it, the weather is warming back up for a few days and we intend to take full advantage. I’ll be sharing what we’re up to throughout the weekend over on instagram (lots of fun behind-the-scenes on my insta stories too!), facebook, and twitter. Follow along! How about you? Any exciting weekend plans?

With that, a few little love notes to the things I loved most this week …

Dear wanderlust, colorful scenes from London’s Notting Hill.

Dear unrealistic beauty, this photographer stunningly captured women wearing strange beauty products that promise instant cures to almost all beauty problems; i.e., they fight “problem zones,” in the series “Beauty Warriors.”

Dear condiment enthusiasts, the surprising history behind ketchup.

Dear elusive inbox zero, how to manage your inbox more effectively.

Dear what to wear, I just found THE cutest step-hem jeans with great reviews, and they’re just $65 at Nordstrom right now. (They even have a hint of velvet detailing – perfect for fall!)

Dear dancing days, you’ll be mesmerized by these turns.

Dear weekend baking, homemade apple cinnamon rolls.

Happy weekend! We’re hunkering down today; everyone seems to have whatever little bug is going around, so we’re watching movies and laying low. Clearly, it’s too cold for our Miami veins. We have a jam-packed weekend full of birthday parties, another blog photo shoot (you might be able to catch a glimpse at yesterday’s photo shoot on my Instagram Stories), plus plenty of errands, and Monday is our wedding anniversary, so resting up today is a must. I’ll be sharing what we’re up to throughout the weekend over on instagram (lots of fun behind-the-scenes on my insta stories too!), facebook, and twitter. Dear hostess with the mostest, how to throw a dinner party like a Parisian.

Dear nothing to wear, this blogger favorite sweater dress is selling like hotcakes; and at under $100, it’s no surprise. If you love the tie sleeves, this sweater is equally awesome.

Dear obsessed with flowers, a guide to the most common fall flowers.

Dear R & R, the most popular types of massages—and how to find the right one for you.

Dear pint-sized writers, how cute is this secret society of letter writers?

Little Love Notes

Lifestyle blogger Lexi of Glitter, Inc. shares a few little love notes to the things she loved most this week, including decorating for fall, Airbnb’s most popular listing ever, and white chocolate pumpkin scones. | glitterinc.com | @glitterinc

Happy Friday! Who’s busy decorating for Halloween this weekend? Other than a few pumpkins, I feel SO behind. Normally, on October 1st, I’ve got my giant rubbermaid bins out, hanging bats and pumpkins and witches; but of course, a certain perfect newborn came whirling in on the 3rd, thwarting my Halloween decorating ambitions. Here’s to hoping we can get it done this weekend! As for life around here, we’re adjusting to a new normal with two girls. Of course, having a two-and-a-half week old and a three-year-old means we’re tired ALL of the time, but it’s learning to juggle two tiny humans that’s been the biggest challenge. Still, I melt every time they do anything adorable (which is about every other second), and I can’t get enough. We’re going to attempt to go somewhere with the girls this weekend, mostly to give Mama and Scarlett a chance to be out of the house. (Thank goodness for Scarlett’s school each weekday morning; I think that’s really kept things mostly normal-ish for her and I’m so grateful.) Any moms out there have any sage words of advice about parenting multiples? The juggle is SO real.

Dear cool weather must-haves, a pretty perfect velvet dress for fall.

Dear wanderlust, you’ll never guess where and what Airbnb’s most popular listing ever looks like.

Dear good scents, an education in finding the right fragrance.

Dear bride styles, the evolution of wedding dresses throughout history.

Dear smiley face no-no’semoji etiquette in work emails.

Dear playing dress-up, here’s a pretty good guess at what everyone’s going to be for Halloween this year.

Little Love Notes

Lifestyle blogger Lexi of Glitter, Inc. shares a few little love notes to the things she loved most this week, including THE perfect scarf, a happiness journal, and pistachio chocolate cookies.

It’s been more than a week with our sweet baby girl, Emme, and I swear there are moments where I feel like she’s been here all along; she just fits, you know? Scarlett is completely smitten with her little sister, and I find myself begging her to stop throwing her arms around Emmeline at least every other minute. I mean, a newborn is a peanut after all. Not such a bad problem to have. Of course, we’re exhausted, but it comes with the territory. Trying to stay on top of blogging and two kids, has been quite the feat, still I know slowly but surely, I’ll get the hang of it.

I’ll be sharing what we’re up to throughout the weekend over on instagram (lots of fun behind-the-scenes on my insta stories too!), facebook, and twitter. Follow along! How about you? Any exciting weekend plans?

Dear feel good tricks, this simple activity can make you so much happier. (It’s science.)

Dear fellow mamas, anyone ever try the Miracle Swaddle? Emme is basically a Houdini, and we can’t keep her little arms secure in any of our homemade swaddles. We’ve heard good things about the Miracle Swaddle. Have you tried it?

Dear end-of-week giggles, if you aren’t already following mama, @mayavorderstrasse, now is the time. She’s beautiful and hilarious and all of her Instagram snaps are A+.

Dear DIYs to try, the cutest owl pumpkins made using just a Sharpie.

Dear chiller temps, THE perfect scarf. (Aaaand I plan on pairing it with this sleeved t-shirt dress in black I just snagged on Amazon. It was $16.99 (and several of the colors are $9.99!) I have a feeling I’ll be living in this all fall.

Dear party planning prep (because it’s almost the season!), how to throw a large dinner party without losing your mind.

Dear weekend baking, pistachio chocolate sable cookies. (These look SO good.)

Little Love Notes

A few little love notes to the things I loved most this week, like this REST DIY Felted Needle Lettering Pillow; plus weekend plans. | glitterinc.com | @glitterinc

Hello, weekend! We’ve got baby on the brain with her due date just days away (we think!) I hit 39 weeks on Tuesday, so at this point, it’s just a waiting game. My scheduled brain wants to do ALL of the things before baby’s arrival, but the rational part of me knows I should be kicking up my feet, munching on cookies, reading a good book, and enjoying these last few days with my little family of three. My baby brother is in town for a wedding, so at least we have him to play with in between wedding events, though I wish I could do more! Maybe we’ll sneak off to a farmers market and a good meal here and there while he’s in town. Meanwhile, I’ll be sharing what we’re up to throughout the weekend over on instagram (lots of fun behind-the-scenes on my insta stories too!), facebook, and twitter. Follow along! How about you? Any exciting weekend plans?

Little Love Notes

Lifestyle blogger Lexi of Glitter, Inc. shares a few little love note to the things loved most this week, plus weekend plans (psst ... they involve work, but at least the desk is pretty.) Click through for the details. | glitterinc.com | @glitterinc

I can’t believe I’m 37 weeks pregnant this week! Well, I can. I feel HUGE. I also have all of this energy, and a need to tackle everything before our babe comes, and yet, everyone keeps telling me to slow down. I have a toddler. There is no slowing down. But I am trying to get as much work done as I can – the kind where I sit on a couch and work from a laptop – before her arrival – because I know in those first few weeks, the last thing on my mind will be work. I hold those first few weeks pretty sacred. It’s a chance to bond with your new baby, to soak up that sweet newborn smell, the sound of their tiny breaths, and to heal. Labor is no joke. Soooo, I’m attempting to take it easy this weekend. No promises, of course. I’ll be sharing what we’re up to throughout the weekend over on instagram (lots of fun behind-the-scenes on my insta stories too!), facebook, and twitter. Follow along! How about you? Any exciting weekend plans?

With that, a few little love notes to the things I loved most this week …

Dear wanderlust, 27 things travel agents pack on their own trips.

Dear get-in-my-closet, the most adorable cross-back pullover sweater. WANT.

Dear always tired, tried and true ways to trick yourself into feeling awake after a bad night’s sleep.

Dear big family decisions, this essay on embracing change as a family is great and worth the read.

Dear weekend baking, dirty chai dark chocolate flourless brownies.
