How to Make 3-Ingredient Glitter Slime

DIY glitter slime. It’s everywhere. It’s the DIY that keeps on giving. I can remember making homemade play doh and slime as a kid with my mom, and getting to do all of these simple and fun projects all over again with my own little girl, it’s way too much fun. Right now, at least in our house, this 3-ingredient glitter slime is having a major moment.

Slime has officially become the family craft of the summer. We’ve made glitter slime twice – pink and purple – and have big plans to create Halloween slime in October.

And did you know, slime is a kid-friendly recipe that takes just 3 ingredients to make? As if that’s not awesome enough, the best part is: you probably already have the commonly used household items in your own bathroom and kitchen needed to make this slime; i.e., no frenzied trips to the grocery store to snag the right ingredients.

We even made a little video to show you just how easy 3-ingredient glitter slime is to make.

  • ½ tablespoon of baking soda
  • 1½ tablespoons of contact lens solution

Instructions

  1. Empty glitter glue into a bowl.
  2. Add ½ tablespoon of baking soda and mix together with the glue.
  3. Add 1½ tablespoons of contact lens solution and blend into glue mixture until slime starts to take shape.
  4. Knead the slime mixture with both hands until fully formed.

Notes

*We love the Elmer's Glitter glue options because (1) GLITTER, and (2) they come in a bunch of bright colors that Scarlett loves.

Note: Once your child is done playing with their slime, put it in a ziploc sandwich bag or tupperware container with a lid that seals well, toss it in the fridge, and use it again and again. You can also “gift” slime to friends. These little zip top bags are perfect!
