Little Love Notes

One gorgeous outdoor fall dinner party (this set-up would be perfect for Thanksgiving!)

Hello, October! For whatever reason, the start of October has always really felt like the real start of fall to me. And feel it I will, because on Thursday the temperatures finally took a plunge … to the high-50s to be exact (and this Miami girl is freezing.) Like a brand new southern girl, I bought pumpkins for decorating and plenty of ingredients for soups and casseroles. I’m planning on nesting straight through fall and winter. Visitors welcome! As for the weekend, though we had a local bluegrass music festival and craft fair on the to do list, odds are, this hurricane is making it a lazy pancake-eating, Netflix-watching, catching-up kind of weekend. Either way, I’ll be sharing fun snaps on instagramfacebook, and twitter (@glitterinclexi) throughout the weekend. Follow along!

With that, a few little love notes …

Dear what’s for dinner, because I am on a soup kick (I mean, have you tried this loaded cauliflower soup?), I’m tempted to try my hand at this silky zucchini soup.

Dear blog newsBlake Lively is shuttering her lifestyle site, Preserve; are you surprised?

Dear playroom dreaming, 20 beautiful ways to display children’s books.

Dear sweater weather, this unexpectedly chic navy sweater is topping my list.

Dear job hunting, the most satisfying jobs in the world (you’ll be surprised.)

Dear parents, a simple idea for when kids get bored.

Dear laid-back design lovers, the most charming California cottage.

Dear weekend baking, baked brown butter pistachio donuts. Yum.

what a beautiful fall tablescape! I wish I lived near a wooded area (and had enough punctual friends who would come by for a sit down meal!)

also, pretty sure I’ll try my hand at those pistachio donuts this weekend, since a hurricane watch will be keeping me indoors, yum!
