It’s funny how even now that I’m working from home (more on that later!), I still find myself anticipating the weekend, rejoicing in Fridays, and whining about Mondays. Part of it is that hubby usually gets one weekend day off, so we cram a bunch of weekend activities into one day (whether that be eating pancakes and staying in our pajamas all day or heading out to explore). This Saturday happens to be his day off and my unofficial birthday. He worked straight through the week so we decided we would celebrate with Scarlett on Saturday. Over the years (and it’s been many … Why I Fall in Love Again Every Day, if you’re feeling sentimental), we’ve always made it a point to keep birthdays special. We try to do things we would both enjoy, and now that Scarlett’s a (very big) part of our family, we’re on the lookout for family fun weekend adventures. Other than hanging outside with these easy watermelon slushies in hand and a few must-shop Labor Day sales, no concrete Labor Day plans yet either, but we’re working on it! How about you? Any fun things lined up for the holiday weekend?
With that, a few little love notes …
Dear business mavens, bloggers, and creatives, I’m so excited to share a business post about getting back to the basics for The Rising Tide Society (an incredible movement of #communityovercompetition for creatives.)
Dear home decorating, any ideas for decorating a mantle just below a tv? We have ours mounted with just a enough space. Though most of these spaces are sans technology, still loving this mantle inspiration.
Dear what’s for dinner, a simple fettuccine with asparagus, peas, artichoke and lemon. (Need more dinner inspiration? 15 favorite vegetarian dinner recipes, right this way.)
Dear adorable facebook videos, this is arguably the sweetest reaction to a baby announcement ever. (“Is that your baby? Is it coming? Is it in your belly? Just now? Is it? Are you really? Are you really having a baby?”) The British accent makes it extra awesome-sauce.
Dear grocery store trip procrastinators, ingredients to keep in your freezer for healthy last-minute meals.
Dear summer-to-fall transition, this just might be the perfect dress.
Dear weekend baking, milk chocolate cookies and cream cookies. Yum.
