Style Guide: Making the Fall Transition

For the next few months, I’ll be teaming up with Sears Style to bring you adorable and affordable ways to dress up as the temperatures drop.  First up:  how to effortlessly take your favorite Summer piece right into Fall.  This Summer, I fell for the very bohemian floral-print kimonos.  Though they work great as a beach cover-up or light Summer jacket style, the kimono actually works seamlessly right into your Fall wardrobe.  Add darker colors and layers to keep the kimono season appropriate, and go for richer shades (like this flower-print kimono in shades of red and purple.)

I also paired my kimono with a little black swing dress, tights, a great statement necklace, boots, and an on-trend tote bag (covered in fringe … because fringe is the perfect Fall compliment.)

What are your favorite Summer pieces?  How are you making them work for Fall?
