After attending Target’s fashion show during New York Fashion Week a few weeks back, I’m still sorting through the million+ pictures snapped during the show, and picking out trends I can’t wait to try out for Fall. Of all of the fashion shows I attended, Target truly offers the most fun, wearable perspective for the everyday girl, and at Target’s prices, why wouldn’t you hop right into the cutest new trends?
And one of my favorite trends? The crisp tailored looks on so many of the models.
By morning, I work in a law office, and though there’s no strict dress code, I look a bit like a teenager (I blame my height … never quite made it past 5-foot-2), so I try to dress a bit more tailored for my mornings in the office – a blazer and a great pair of heels go a long way in convincing “grown ups” I’m actually an attorney and not the intern. Target has nailed the tailored trend this season, with adorable blazers that work over a dress or pin skirt, but can be taken from day-to-night just as easily, thrown on with a pair of jeans. The dresses all have great, fitted shapes, with just the right amount of cinch at the waistline. And the shoes; well, I want them all.
You can shop the complete Tailored Trend at Target right now, and take a look at a few of my favorites: Target Sunglasses Whitehall // Sonia Kashuk Satin Luxe Lip Color // Merona Sleeveless Pleated Front Blouse // Merona Ponte Stripe Dress // Merona Long-Sleeve Oxford Blazer // Sam & Libby Dominique Pointed Toe Pump in Cabernet // Mossimo High Low Ponte Skirt w/ Faux Leather // Merona® Meg Chunky Heel Pump // 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target Peplum Tank // Mossimo Faux Leather Sleeve Moto Jacket // Mossimo Striped Ankle Pant // Mossimo Faux Leather Trim Dinner Jacket // Mossimo® Tote Handbag // Mossimo Supply Co. Voneta Studded Tuxedo Flat in Leopard
And be sure to stay tuned, I’ll keep on sharing more behind-the-scenes looks from the top secret Target fashion show held during this year’s Mercedes Benz Fashion Week over the next few weeks and months. As always, follow along here on the blog, and with the #TargetGoesGlam and #TargetStyle hashtags.

Dear hubby, I really really love you. (Image via)
Dear sparkle obsessed, the tough love stack from BaubleBar is awesome, and just the right amount of tough girl glam for Fall.
Dear Brides, thinking about wearing lipstick on your wedding day? #justdoit
Dear manicure, I’ll miss you, but I may just have to jump ship for these gold metal nail strips.
Dear go-getters, what we can learn about branding from the Kardashians.
Dear walls, if you could talk, I’m guessing you’d scream, paste these gold circles all over me.
Dear bakers, though I’m kind of partial to apples in the Fall, I couldn’t resist sharing this list of 100+ pumpkin recipes. That’s a lot of pumpkin.
Dear J.Crew, stop plotting to implode my budget with your super amazing sales … or do; I’m kind of obsessed. Get 30% off all final sale items at J.Crew with code SHOPNOW. (See what they did there? “SHOPNOW”. Okay, don’t mind if I do.) And I’m taking this color-block jacket with me. These too.
Dear everyone, happy happy weekend!
Though I’m a bit bummed that Summer is now officially over, I’m kind of giddy for Fall. I’ve always been a Fall lover. I adore the colors, the holidays, the excuse to wear sweaters; and I love apples. Every chance I get to cook with them, I do. I am actually one of those people who eats an apple-a-day, and when my Fall baking kicks into full gear, I’m probably consuming a whole lot more than just one-a-day. Blame the cake. So in that spirit, I rounded up 9 fall-ready apple dessert recipes that you are absolutely going to love.

I am so excited to share that I will once again be sharing the season’s trends for T.J.Maxx. And Fall is one of my favorite seasons to dress for, so I jumped at the chance to pair up with T.J.Maxx once again.
First things first: I live in Miami, so Fall is more like Summer, but hotter. Winter is warm Fall. But I’m determined to get in my Fall fashion fix, so I always hunt for cute dresses with warmer Fall tones and patterns, and then I pair those with Fall-worthy accessories. I found this designer name dress/tunic earlier this week at my local T.J.Maxx and I did a little happy dance in the aisle after I found it. (I think I’ve had more happy-dance-in-T.J.Maxx moments than I can count. How many times have you stumbled across the perfect designer piece for way less in that store? So awesome.) By the way, I’ll also be sharing sneak peeks of my amazing T.J.Maxx finds – clothes, shoes, home goods, beauty (like nail polish, hair styling tools and makeup) – you name it, along the way (We’ve got four Fall-inspired T.J.Maxx posts coming at you!) on instagram, so be sure to follow along.
For this first post, I styled three Fall-ready looks with my new best friend, the Fall little black dress (with a punch of color and pattern) — hope you like!
Earlier this week I wrote a guest post for Chandra’s wedding blog, Oh Lovely Day, all about wearing lipstick on your wedding day, so I thought I’d share here (plus a few extra shots of brides who did lipstick oh-so-well) …
Lipstick is one of those beauty products I didn’t start wearing until well into my twenties. I experimented with lip gloss all through high school and college, but I never dared break into the world of color. And then a light just sort of went on, and I tried a bright cherry red. I couldn’t believe all of the fun I had been missing out on. Lipstick is beautiful, dramatic, elegant, classic, vintage, couture, and all at the same time. If you haven’t tried lipstick, or if you haven’t found the right lipstick, you might not be considering lipstick on your wedding day, but you may just want to re-think that beauty strategy. Lipstick is the perfect wedding day beauty accessory. My own makeup artist, a close family friend, talked me into a soft shimmery pink lipstick on my own wedding day, but now that I’ve really learned to embrace the bolder pigments, I secretly wish I had gone with a red, coral, or berry.
When hunting for that perfect wedding lipstick, consult a professional! Make a day out of hitting up your favorite makeup counters or visiting your makeup artist with friends, prior to the big day. Finding a shade that is “you” is key. Glossy lipsticks have less staying power though lighter colors, especially those with some shimmer, will make your lips appear fuller, while matte and creme formulas will last a lot longer. Pair your shade with a good lip liner (this will keep the color from running), and don’t be afraid to ask for help.
Will you wear lipstick for your big day?
Head on over to Oh Lovely Day for more!

Although I’ve been with hubby for a long long, long time, I still get giddy over date night. (And on the subject of date night, they’re a must for any good relationship.) I also love getting ready, sitting down to take the time on my hair and makeup, picking out just the right dress (typically something cute and black; the LBD is like my dressing safety blanket), and wearing my sparkliest baubles, because, why not? During the week, I wake up, down a cup of coffee, spend exactly fifteen minutes trying to make less of a mess of my hair, putting on the weekday makeup, outfit on and out the door. And I kind of relish in the all-day-pajama-wearing kind of weekend days; so a date night, well that’s kind of a big deal (and an excuse to break out something new to wear!)
What I Wore: Sparkle & Fade Drop-Waist Dress (Old, Similar at ASOS for $23) // ASOS Boyfriend Cardigan With Star Elbow Patch // 3.1 Phillip Lim Kitty Over-the-Knee Boots // BaubleBar Marine Contessa Bib Necklace (c/o) // 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli Satchel // Nordstrom BP Rings // Faire Figure Gold Midi Rings // Essie Nail Polish in Licorice + Butter London Matte Top Coat
*Huge thanks to my adorable little sister, Rowan Holzberg, for snapping these photos for me!
