Little Love Notes

Dear Dove, bravo! (If you haven’t seen the three-minute video that Dove posted on YouTube, that teaches a vital lesson about how we view ourselves compared to how others see us, do it.  By the way, I love this quote from Dove on the making of the video: “Women are their own worst beauty critics,” Dove says. “Only 4% of women around the world consider themselves beautiful … we decided to conduct a compelling social experiment that explores how women view their own beauty in contrast to what others see.”)

Dear weekend, hello, I love you.

Dear perfect outdoor party, make me throw a dinner party, why don’t you!

Dear dreaded treadmill, I’m thinking of giving ballet a try again after reading about these five “real women” workouts. Anyone know of any (inexpensive) adult ballet studios in Miami?

Dear late twenties, you think someone could have warned me about all of the baby parties we’d be attending at this stage in life. I swear, first it was wedding after wedding, and now, all I do is buy baby shower and birthday gifts for friends. (Not that I’m complaining … okay, I’m complaining a little … but hey, at least there’s cake.)

Dear beauty gurus, I need your help. I bought the Yves Saint Laurent ROUGE PUR COUTURE Vernis À Lèvres Glossy Stain (say that three times fast) in Rouge Laque (the perfect cherry red) a few months ago and I’m addicted. With the Sephora 15% off sale and all, I’m finding it hard not to snatch up another shade … but I have no idea what color to go with. SOS. {And by the way, everything at Sephora is 15% Off with Code: CHIC through Sunday, 4/21.}

Dear DailyBuzz Style, thanks for the Spring Cleaning feature … now, to get to that cleaning.

Dear shopaholics anonymous, meet my closet.

**I just want to take a minute to say that this has been one crazy week. I can’t watch the news without tearing up. I’m not sure why bad things happen, and no matter how often, I feel this huge sadness for the families suffering, for the repercussions, and for our world (how things can sometimes be so ugly.) I usually refuse to watch the local news, because truth be told, awful things happen every day; but it’s at these moments, when the devastation is widespread, that it seeps into our worlds and shakes us all to the core. My heart goes out to everyone in Boston and Texas, and I’m so sorry that events like this happen on both a large and small scale.

    Such a great campaign! Being in advertising. I really appreciate the creative & how on brand it is. They really captured the emotion & made the message clear. We, as women, really need to appreciate ourselves & really see the beauty we have. Imperfection and all. Thanks for sharing!
