Little Love Notes

Dear Blogshop, I’m coming for you, with lots of rest, water, a pretty new laptop case, and just a few first day of school jitters.  That’s right, this weekend I’ll be attending an intensive, two day course, taught by Bri + Angela, where we binge on Photoshop and come out sparkly designer extraordinaires … or in my case, one with the ability to turn on Photoshop.

Dear Gift-Givers (a.k.a., everyone), if you’ve already had the chance to follow along with my little gift guides, be sure to hop on over to To & From Magazine, the brainchild of Meg and Katie, and catch me on page 45 … my picks are dipped in gold, natch.

Dear buttermilk blueberry breakfast cake, I had no idea such a thing as breakfast cake existed, but now it’s a must make.

Dear leather fashion trend, this leather skirt is haunting me and it’s all your fault. #dangbudget

Dear fellow employed, did you catch my office chair surprise over on Instagram today? It involves My Little Pony.  {Follow along @glitterinclexi}

Dear readers, be on the look-out for an exciting blog announcement on Monday …

Dress of the Week

This casual wedding dress is the perfect combination of detailed-yet-simple spaghetti strap bust and flowing skirt. I’m also seriously coveting her braid.

Gift Guide {for the Hostess}

My mom taught me long ago to never visit someone as a guest without a gift in hand.  I know it sounds a bit dated, but it’s those little things that mean so much to people.  And during the Holiday season, the invites are aplenty, so I’ve learned to collect little gifts throughout the year to have on hand for all of the dinner parties, get-togethers, celebrations, office parties, and more. If you’re scratching your head over what to bring to say “thanks”, here are a few ideas …

Chevron Pillow // Fortune Cookie Box // Dyptique Scented Candle (The ultimate in luxe candles!) // Blank Chalkboard Cards (Because everyone loves thank you cards, snail mail, and chalkboard!) // Herringbone Throw Blanket // Decorative Gold Bowl // Agate Coasters // Perfect Setting Paper Placemat Pad (Love this!) // Glitter Salad Servers // Chalkboard Serving Slate // Decanter (Perfect for the wine connoisseurs … and it’s from Target!) // Confetti Bowl Set // C. Wonder Ikat Apron (Perfect for him or her!) // Heart Spatula (Bake cookies, bread, a cake, etc. and use a ribbon to tie this spatula to the package.) // Gourmet Sea Salt Set

Gorgeous Fall Florals

It started with that bouquet.  It’s lush Fall colors, with pops of pink and peach, the ribbons, the foliage, really a perfect Fall bouquet.  But then I discovered the wedding, and all of its grogeous florals, and I was hooked.  I love that the floral team used soft pinks and peaches, mixed in with the more common darker-hued rustic colors of Fall to create such a great balance.

DIY Sally Hansen Gel Manicure

I practically jumped for joy (okay, there was definite jumping involved) when I heard that Sally Hansen was rolling out their own line of at-home gel manicure products. Ever since the advent of gel manicures, I’ve saved my pennies to get as many gel manicures in the salon as justifiably possible.  But they can get pricey, and I’ve always been an in-between manicure at-home mani kind of girl.  And now my gel manicure obsession can be fully realized, because I’ve scored myself a brand new at-home gel manicure starter kit.

White Home With Modern Twists

This house is full of white wood floors and white-soaked walls, and I’ve unexpectedly fallen in love with the place.  I first discovered this unique home on Jacquelyn’s blog, and once bookmarked, I couldn’t stop coming back to it.  The mostly white space, filled with modern furniture and classically-lined bookshelves, has the occasional pop of something marvelous and awesome, take the shimmering disco ball hanging beside a light-filled window, or the scribbled upon chalkboard wall, or the polka dots.  Wanna play, “I Spy”?  Also, when can I move in?
