The hubby and I had a great big barbecue for our rehearsal dinner – red + white checkered tablecloths and all. We knew Saturday night’s wedding festivities would be fairly formal, so we wanted everyone to feel comfortable on Friday night. We had a denim dress code, piles of barbecue, macaroni and cheese, hot dogs, iced tea, beer, cobbler and ice cream – and it was so very us. Though I’ve been to rehearsal dinners at very swanky, very chic restaurants, there’s something so warm about a relaxed version of the night. Your night-before-the-big-day vibe also depends on the number of guests, whether you’ll be hosting out-of-town guests, family and wedding party only, or the whole entire wedding (we had the whole gang because our wedding was a destination wedding with guests flying in that afternoon, a.k.a., some very hungry guests!)
