I Made You A Mixtape

Hand-holding was awkward, being dropped off at the movie theater for your date – more awkward, but when he made you a mix tape – that was love. Because I live a soundtracked life (more on that here), and because I am a product of the 80s, every Wednesday I’ll make you a mix tape. Who says chivalry is dead? You’re welcome.

This week’s mixtape is all melodrama and black eyeliner.  According to my teenaged sister, who is likely far cooler than I, that makes this mixtape “emo.”  The theme:  violins.  Those dang violins had me at Bittersweet Symphony – blame Ryan Phillipe and his hotness in Cruel Intentions.  Definitely feeling emo now.

Bittersweet Symphony, The Verve

Turning Tables, Adele

3 Libras, A Perfect Circle

Eleanor Rigby, The Beatles

Rainbows and Pots of Gold, Stereophonics

Hurricane, Bob Dylan

All My Friends, Counting Crows

Men in Helicopters, Adrian Belew

Stephanie Says, Velvet Underground (Must watch The Royal Tenenbaums for the 47th time.)

An’ Another Thing, Dave Matthews

Untouched, The Veronicas (Not surprisingly, I love the 90s feel to this song.)

November Rain, Guns ‘n Roses (Epicly epic video.)

The Last Song, Theory of a Deadman
