Crates & Pallets In The Home

Most of the year I live in sunny Miami, Florida, but a few years back my parents bought a vacation home on the coast of Maine.  Maine had me at pie and shopping.  As far as shopping goes, Maine has the world’s most incredible junk sales.  And trust me, I revere the word “junk.”  Thrift sales, craft sales, church sales, and garage sales abound.  Sometimes great old stuff even washes up on the shore.  (Sea glass does exist!)  Every house in Maine is decorated with gorgeous old wreckage and salvage pieces, ship’s bows, lobster traps, and the like.  Thus today’s inspiration – indoor decorating with old crates, pallets, stripped doors and frames, wood beams, and the like.  Swoon.

The Gloved Bride

I love modern spins on old classics. My grandmother and great grandmother wore full length satin gloves to their weddings. Madonna brought back the gloved bridal ensemble with her risque performances of “Like A Virgin” in the 80s. This bride took her shot at the fashion do and made it a must in my book. Bridal accessory love.

Why not borrow a vintage set of family gloves for your wedding “something old”?
