OPI Burlesque: Bring On The Bling

I have been drooling over OPI’s newish collection for the film, Burlesque.

“OPI is thrilled to partner with Sony Pictures’ Screen Gems on this exciting movie release,” said Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “The colors were modeled off the majestic glamour, over-the-top costumes and mesmerizing Cabaret that are typically seen in Burlesque performances. The resulting bright, dazzling shades are perfect for the holiday season.”

My first victim, “Bring On The Bling.”

Bring On The Bling shows as a yellow gold glitter in the bottle, but appears more rose gold on my pale skin.  Like any glitter polish, the glitter builds to opaque (glitter polishes are generally created by adding a ton of sparkle to a clear base – so unless you build up the layers, not enough glitter flecks will cover your nail to appear opaque.  OPI Burlesque glitter polishes actually pack a lot more glitter per bottle – and I was impressed with how quickly the foil glitter flecks covered my nails).  Two coats are necessary, three coats looks awesome.

My only complaints:  1.  The polish began to chip by day two – definitely annoying.  2.  There are flecks of color (ahem, rainbow colors) in the gold glitter.  I think I would LOVE this polish if it was solid gold.  3.  As always, removal of glitter polish is a bear.  I’ve learned to soak my nails with remover in a shallow dish before I get to work with cotton balls.  Still, expect raining glitter.

On a side note, if you didn’t catch Burlesque this Christmas, rent it the moment it comes out on DVD.  The reviews were mixed, but I LOVED it.  There’s singing, dancing, the most glamorous shoes you have ever laid eyes upon, and Cher.  Recipe for fabulousness.

where can you buy the louboutins shoes from burlesque? I really like them and just want to know a price.

    • I’m not sure. They are a few seasons old, but you might be able to find them on ebay?
