There seems to be a collective love for Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, and Free People, and though it may come as little surprise, the booming brands are in fact sister stores; their mass appeal all carefully crafted by one savvy company: Urban Outfitters, Inc. The ever-developing trendsetting company cultivates fads from tweens, to teens, to college hipsters, fashionable professionals, and beyond. And per every bohemian girl’s desire, UO has come through once again. The much-loved Anthropologie is set to release a line for the next stage.
Riding on the high from their record fourth quarter sales, Urban Outfitters, Inc., announced they would be adding the title bridal outfitter to its already vast repertoire. The company is focusing on the bridal store concept in the hopes of capitalizing on the projected $60 billion the wedding industry will earn in the next decade alone.
The bridal division, which will debut online in Spring 2011, will be its own independent brand. It’s slated to be developed by the design team behind the Anthropologie label (yippee!). In addition, UO’s bridal will adopt a similar aesthetic to the highly recognizable Anthropologie look. Wedding gowns, will retail in the $1,000 to $5,000 range, and will be available alongside bridesmaids dresses, fine jewelry, shoes, fresh flowers, and invitations. Expanding even further, the bridal category will also provide services such as wedding planning and honeymoon booking.
Is it just me, or did every die-hard Anthropologie fan come up with this idea ages ago?
